Next-Wave: "What the heck kind of conference or whatever are you doing and why
should anyone attend it?"

Henderson: Conference?

This is more like a concert of ideas, interactions and emotional experiences

There will be lots of music from Harp 46 and other local bands
Intense interviews with leaders, thinkers and "lost" people
Provocative forums simply called "gay" and "power"
Laughs - mostly at ourselves

Brian McLaren will stretch out on his thoughts behind A Generous Orthodoxy
and we will try bring some application to his ideas.

Jim Wallis ( East) - if you haven't heard him or read him you need to
sometime before the next presidential election because he will definitely be
involved in all of that somehow.

Deb Loyd ( West ) - she is an up and coming "overnight" success. She and her
husband Ken planted The Bridge Church in Portland Oregon 5 years ago for
pierced and tatooed people.

David Ruis ( West) - Killer musician and passionate involved in pointing the
church toward the poor they already live among

Why?

Who needs another conference?

No one I know

What we need are really new ideas
What we really need is to know we aren't alone
What we really need is to know we aren't stupid
What we need is validation
What we need is new eyes to see what is already in front of us

That's' why we're gathering to find out what a generous church and a
generous Christianity might look like

Thanks for asking...
